Precision 3D Surface Profiler
The Talysurf CLI product consists of a range of platforms and gauges offering rapid contact and non contact 3D measurement, simple calibration, easy to use measurement routines and powerful Talymap analysis software.
Talysurf CLI is a scanning surface topography instrument that moves the workpiece under a stationary gauge head. Data is collected one point at a time with each point having a discrete X, Y, Z location.
Three models of Talysurf CLI are available to suit manufacturers of small, medium or large sized components:
High speed and high accuracy metrology system
The CLI 2000 is ideal for the measuremnt of big components. It can also be used with small components when used in “batch” mode.
As many parts as will fit can be loaded on the table at once. The ultra precise table positioning can step from one part to the next while the measurement program automatically repeats for efficent operation.

Versatility in a compact package
All of the high powered inspection features available on our largest instrument are now also included with the compact Talysurf CLI 1000.
The system offers mid-range capacity with the top end performance.
The system is ideal for small to medium sized parts. The CLI 1000 has the same speeds, accuracies, software and programmability as the industry leading Talysurf CLI 2000.

Small footprint CLI system
For manufacturers of small components the CLI 500 needs, just 500 mm x 310 mm of table top spacefor installation.
The CLI 500 is still capable of running full automatic measuring routines.

Motorized axes - vertical (Z)
All Talysurf CLI systems include three motorized axes, each of which provides 0.5 μm resolution. The Z axis is used for vertical positioning of the gauge to suit the height of the component being measured. Vertical measurement resolution is determined by the gauge head.
Motorized axes - horizontal (X - Y)
X and Y positioning slides are used to move the component under the gauge head. Slide straightness is optimized by means of a mapping routine that eliminates errors from the measurement result.
Modular electronic control
A single, modular unit controls all Talysurf CLI functions. Installation servicing and routine maintenance are all greatly simplified.
Multi-tasking (analyzing one surface while scanning the next) is enabled to improve through-put, efficiency and productivity.
Stable foundation
Granite is used in the measuring superstructure to help minimize environmental effects and to assure repeatability of results over time.
Convenience
A remote control keypad is mounted directly on the instrument to assist in the staging of components to be measured.
CLI Gauges
For maximum versatility, Talysurf CLI systems can be fitted with upto four different gauging heads to measure different combinations of material type and surface finish. It is possible to use one instrument take complete control of inspection programs.
Inspection independence
High precision manufacturers produce different components using different processes and often need a variety of inspection tools. The extreme flexibility of the CLI systems can remove the requirement to purchasing a different tool for different tasks.
Selecting the right gauge
Principle features to consider are contact or non-contact, gauge range, gauge resolution and scanning speed.
The information below will help you decide which of our gauging techniques is best for the components.
